Everyone’s nutritional needs are different which means every person’s diet is going to look different. I do believe there is a hierarchy of foods based on their nutritional makeup and the role they play in a person’s health, but there are very few foods that need to be vilified and completely off limits.

In the United States, our food environment and landscape has changed dramatically over the years. The easy choice is typically not the healthy choice, so the burden falls on individuals to make decisions about what to eat. With so much information out there it’s easy to become confused and frustrated by mixed messages and conflicting opinions. My goals is to become as educated as I can, sift through the piles of information, and pass on my knowledge.
